Mr Blobby
Is there any reason why I shouldn't put the extract manifold on to of the supply manifold in the picture? Unit is on the loft. Plenty of room but would use less space if stacked. I ask because every installation and design I've seen has the manifolds adjacent to each other. Russell griffiths
Vibration ???? how about some foam rubber between them.
JohnMo
Build a small wooden table and sit the second unit on it. Or get some neoprene foam to separate the two units, so you don't end up with annoying rattle in the future.

Those two oval-shaped bits of metal on the top are to allow access for cleaning. If you want to be able to access them, the unit stacked on top needs to be movable.

Being serious my current plan is to have limited access to the manifolds and thence continuous duct from manifold to terminal. Will I be sending a trained hamster with a duster through my ducts? Or in reality is cleaning a very rare event?

It should be very rare to non-existent if you keep filters in place all round, but the access adds reassurance in case it's needed. I suspect the incontinence of mice may make things worse, rather than better!
