Ajm Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 we have just installed and connected up a wired remote for the vent-axia sentinal BH MVHR. Does anyone else here have one of these? Should it have a backlight on the display? Our remote is working but the display is really faint, there is no backlight and I have to use torch to read it! Wonder if it is a fault? Thans
cwr Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I have had exactly the same issue. We have 2 vent axia's. On one the display was not great but worked, the other did not show anything. By swapping the controls over i was able to show the control was not the issue. I went back to the supplier who sent me a new main control pcb, having it swapped has helped. Its still the case though that neither are particularly impressive. Mine do not appear to have back lights, which would have been helpful.
Ajm Posted September 9, 2024 Author Posted September 9, 2024 For future reference if it helps others... Having contacted tech support at vent axia, the wired remote does not have a backlight. There is a contrast adjustment - a small variable resistor near the connector - see attached Tweaking that with a small screwdriver adjusts the lcd contrast and it is now readable.
CityJim Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Sigh, I've got this exact issue. I can control the main unit using the remote buttons but nothing visible on screen... At all. I can see the adjustment screw but can't seem to turn it. Is there a knack? Thanks, Jim.
Nickfromwales Posted June 16 Posted June 16 On some the part that turns is the silver disk, so you need a flat blade screwdriver that goes across the flats. Turn this VERY slowly and carefully, as these are quite fragile PCB mounted components. It may be the spindle in the dead centre also, but a bit hard to tell from the pic. If that is a oblong shape then it may be so.
