crispy_wafer
English regs, Can I plan for a socket closer than 350mm to an internal corner of a utility room. I read something that mentioned uninhabited rooms and a utility being an uninhabited room, but that was off some site out there in the wild. Thanks Marek
Mike
Yes, you can. Building Regulations Requirement M4(l): Category 1 - Visitable dwellings, section f - states that 'all-mounted switches and socket outlets in habitable rooms [should be] reasonably accessible to people who have reduced reach'. And the definition of habitable rooms excludes bathrooms and utility rooms.

ProDave
I think there is another loophole, only general purpose sockets have to comply with minimum and maximum heights and being accessible. So if you have a desire to have a socket outside those limits, it is okay for a special purpose. That is what allows high up sockets for a wall mounted tv for instance. If your BC gets awkward stick a label on it to say "tv only" for example. 1
