CC45
Hi all, Need to test my central heating joints - would this do the trick? https://www.screwfix.com/p/rothenberger-dry-pressure-test-kit/96984 If so - to what pressure and for how long? Thanks for any advice, Cc Ps this one seems to have better reviews https://www.screwfix.com/p/monument-dry-pressure-test-kit/72940 Edited October 22, 2017 by CC45 Update

PeterW
Depends if you are using Hep2O or copper ..?? if using copper then I’d test dry at 2 bar for 10 mins just to get a view on if it was all ok and then wet test. Don’t tend to dry test Hep2O tbh
Vijay
I've used the second one many times. I tend to use it when I might have a hidden joint or one that is a right pain to get to and I test it for a good few hours at least. My view is I'd rather know 100% that that joint is not gonna give me an issue

My view is I'd rather know 100% that that joint is not gonna give me an issue I just hook up to the mains and let her rip. You'll soon know if there is an issue and it's far quicker to find with a leak than it is guessing where a bit of air is coming out and taking forever to find it . Remember with copper, they can stay nice when cold but weep when hot so any place you can grab the pipe and give it a tug, whilst on test, I would. CC45
Hi all, Got hold of a Rothenberger unit on ebay at a sensible price - so been doing some wet testing - left at 5bar for up to 24hrs. No pressure drop or drips anywhere so will cover up now and get on with all the other jobs. Thanks for all your comments.
