Buying a house without a new build warranty

Thanks guys, your advice was very important. One day we'll get our dream house in the countryside but I don't think it will be in the part of the country we live in now, as we clearly can't afford it. I might move back to ireland one day, plenty of dodgy rural properties there but at least they're cheap!
