February 24, 20242 yr We bought a plot of land some 18 months ago. We registered the new address with Royal Mail and as search on Land Registry shows the mailing address but no other information. I had assumed the solicitor dealing with the purchase would have registered the land with Land Registry? Do I now have to register it using the Form FR1? I notice other plots in the same development are also not showing on land registry but some completed ones are. Any advice appreciated.
February 24, 20242 yr Our plot still shows on the land registry as "land" i.e. not a house. It was bought and registered with land registry before we had even thought about a house name. So it can be harder to find on the LR, but it is there. So I have never seen the need to do anything about it.
February 24, 20242 yr Author But I assume you can see a Land Registry number? Ours says no information available. The planning applications went in as Land to the East of Dove Crags so I assume once purchased either the solicitor or ourselves have to register it formally?

Even though it is only registered as "land" the map itself has been updated and accurately shows the building outline and even the house name.

LR has a 12 - 18 month backlog for first registrations (6 - 12 month for Transfers). Fingers' crossed, it should be just about to be filed. Edited: (I am assuming your conveyancing solicitor submitted FR1 at the time of Purchase) Edited February 24, 20242 yr by IanR
February 25, 20242 yr If the application is part of a development you can get it expedited. I found this out 9 months after my solicitor completed my purchase and it was causing hold ups to my section 106 agreement and consequently planning. Admittedly my solicitors were equally as useless as the county solicitor at this stage.
