Loft Hatch

Hi All

 

My next job is to insulate my loft and install a loft hatch

 

My opening is 1200 x 700 and was planning to install this loft hatch:

I am aiming for my house to be as air tight as possible and this loft hatch has good reviews but no mention of air tightness 

 

Would people recommend me install an airtight loft hatch as well?

Could anyone please recommend an air tight loft hatch?

I went with AT from jupiter blue, but I don't think they go that big. Not fitted yet, so can't comment if it was worth it

I have looked into this further and realise the only airtight one i can find anywhere near that size is the Wellhofer one and thats 1200 x 600

 

I decided on the loft hatch size without considering air tightness (naively) and went for the largest size to allow me to get my MHVR in and out the loft if required

 

I might have to install the one I originally based it on and see if i can improve air tightness on the seal retrospectively

This looks good and even does 1200x700 opening size which is perfect

 

I can only find it on Irish websites, has anybody find it on a uk based website?

Still debating just to go for this, I read on another BH post (couple of years ago) that it was tested for air tightness up to class 4)
