Heat losses, and what i can design out ?

I'm starting to think about heat losses. Not the normal one's, like floor, walls, windows, doors, and roof. The odd ones that i also need to consider. Things like where the wall meets the floor. Where the windows meet the wall reveals. Window lintels. Where the roof meets the walls. Pipe penetrations from inside to outside. Are there any others that people can think of ? Don't want to miss any if i can. Thanks in advance.

Are you thinking about cold bridges and how to calculate the losses?

@SteamyTea Yes, Both how to calculate them, and thinking about what i might be able to do to make them a bit better.

I did a bit about calculating periphery heat losses on here a while back.  It is not a a BSI standard, but was close enough.

Basically you add the aperture/wall thickness to the total wall area, then calculate as normal.

Windows sat in cavity as much as possible, tape joins.

Warm roof and insulation continues from cavity into roof .

Few or None, unless down through an insulated slab and if unavoidable insulated to death.

Yes, and you get the added bonus of a better temperature in the loft.

Yes, I wanted my MVHR up there and it’s usage as storage.
