Garage door recommendation

Hi all, after a roller shutter type door but it must look traditional - e.g timber, panelled & ideally with what looks like small glazed windows.

 

any recs? Best match I've found so far is a cedar bake well with glazing but very ££££ that I can't justify!

I spent weeks on garage doors, so know most of what is available.

 

Do you mean a sectional door, they don't do roller doors in the style that you are talking about.

 

Timber sectional doors are considerably more expensive than metal sectional doors. I looked at the Cedar doors you are talking about.

 

Garage door systems make a coach house style sectional door like the one below, or do you want it to actually be wood stained finish?

Hi, sorry for the very long reply! Still not sorted garage doors. Yeah something traditional timber looking, ideally that can be used electronically as a roller shutter? Thanks

I had timber in last house....not again, lots of maintenance!

You can get Hormann or similar doors in Georgian panelling and a fake wood finish which looks pretty realistic.  Other than the Georgian panel and the door I listed above though which don’t suit many of today’s house styles there is little available that looks traditional. Instead you could just get a flat door in wood effect. 

 

I too like @lizzie said would avoid wood for maintenance and cost.

if you did end up looking at hormann be aware hormann and garador are the same company.  Our sectional garador came with hormann paperwork and badges.......
