Post and beam
Hi Clever people. Having heard somewhere on the forum that one way to bypass the 30 day trial period of Loopcad is to create a virtual machine and re subscribe, i have tried to do just this. I have downloaded an ISO file for my windows 10 and used Virtualbox to create a VM. The issue holding me up is that when i launch the VM i cannot make use of the ISO file. It is stored in on an SD card via a usb3. I have also tried locating it on the win 10 desktop, also to no avail. I have clearly done something daft or mis understood a stage. Does anyone have any insight please? Regards keith
jamieled
I remember having a similar problem. Can you not just download the .iso directly to the VM? Pretty sure that's how I did it.
MikeGrahamT21
Yeah i've done this before. Create a VM, and take a snapshot before you install the software, when trial expires revert to the snap and reinstall, and so on and so forth. You can share a folder to a virtual box VM, but pop the ISO in the folder. https://carleton.ca/scs/tech-support/virtual-machines/transferring-files-to-and-from-virtual-machines/

I thought i needed the ISO correctly configured before i could do anything with it. dpmiller
I think I just uninstalled, cleared registry entries, and put it back on again?

Apps don't always store this info in registry, they make it super hard for you to find it for the whole reason of the trial period. VM and snapshot is the way forward for no mess
