Self build insurance has come through 

 

“ if not complete , what are the reasons for the delay ? “

Just be a bit cautious as some policies have a right for the issuer to cancel if work is not completed in a timely manner.  Check the wording.

I will . Was going to give them a list of 500 reasons . Probably just simplify it and blame brexit , Covid , war for everything.

At least you only have to keep renewing your insurance.  I had to bung building control another £100 each year to extend the building warrant.

I did manage for 7 years without any insurance 😊

They are probably just establishing the risk, for instance, has the site been inactive for a long period of time?  Is the property water tight? Etc 


It’s a fair question, if you want the right policy.

I was told by my insurers earlier this year that this was my final policy extension.

After 4 years of upfront payments and no claims. 

This was the only company that would cover the Channel Islands so if I'm not done by the time this extension ends then I'm a little in the perverbial .
