Brinners
There’s some cracks above the bay window, unsure as to what the issue is, would anyone have any idea?
Temp
Can you post more pictures from wider view and outside. It looks like some work has been done recently. Was this just an attempt to fill cracks or something else? Edited January 29, 2023 by Temp
Brinners
I’m thinking of buying the house, but it made me a bit unsure, what do you think to the pictures below? This is the bay window on the second floor.
Marvin
I'm with @Temp. Need to see photos of the outside. I guess its a bay window with a bit of pitched roof. May be leaking.
Temp
My guess is the original windows were load bearing and this wasn't properly considered when they were replaced with uPVC. The cracks are wider at the top than the bottom and their direction suggests the bay has sunk? I would budget to take down rebuild the whole bay window on both floors and factor that into the value you put on the house. If that doesn't fill you with horror get a surveyor or SE to look at it to be sure it's not worse than that. Perhaps they will say it's not that bad but better safe than sorry. The cracks on the left in this picture are a bit more concerning because it's not clear they are related to issues with the bay.

Yep I’ll be getting a survey done, there’s a few little cracks around the house like the attached, would you say that’s anything to worry about? That’s downstairs
markc
This needs some closer investigation, the internal photos imply the bay/s have dropped but the external pic doesn’t support this.
Mr Punter
Look round the outside of the house to check for cracking / subsidence. Look at neighbouring properties as well and maybe ask a neighbour if they have had any issues. Have a look at the wall beneath the window on the 1st floor.
Marvin
Hi @Brinners I think the first pictures were the UPSTAIRS bay window. Roof problem?? I would check the roof look in the loft. Lots of ceiling cracks upstairs... Take pictures. Edited January 31, 2023 by Marvin further thoughts
Brinners
The roof and loft were crack free so we will get a building survey done soon
