Miek
Hi folks The next task on this build is to get the house rendered, Krend self coloured render. I have this 5m slider where the outer leaf is on steel . I've blocked it out with 12mm cement render board. But what's the best way to make sure the render doesn't crack? Maybe I'm worried about nothing but I could see joints between steel and block and render board moving differentially when the summer sun starts beating down. Any advise appreciated @nod
Moonshine
EML fixed to over the render board and sailed past the cracks, use stainless steel screws and washers to fix the EML to the board / timber Edited November 28, 2022 by Moonshine
nod
Almost certain to crack if you try and cover it I would add a movement joint where it meets the block work and an angle bead on the bottom edge the mesh on the beads will trap two thin strips of fibre mesh Your renderers should suggest this

Movement joints look fine We often continue a movement joint for no other reason than esthetics Belt and braces
