Hob recirculating extractor

Recommended Posts

We don’t want a cooker hood above the island hob and don’t want to extract externally either. Therefore we are looking at a venting recirculating hob like the Neff N70 or similar. Does anyone have any experience of these types hobs and their effectiveness? It’ll be working alongside a Zehnder Q350 MVHR system.

I have the N70, only moved in 3 weeks ago but so far it seems to be working pretty well.  There are 2 MVHR extract vents in the ceiling at the kitchen end of the kitchen/diner, within a meter or so of the hob.

As the hob vent sucks downwards, my kitchen fitter cut a horizontal section out of the island plinth on the hob side.  It's recessed so invisible.  When the hob extractor is on a high setting it vents through there & gets sucked up into the MVHR vents especially with the MVHR (Zehnder Q450) on boost for a bit.

I've an Elica recirculating hob. Love it. Bridge function, extractor actually works, timer to control rings so slow cooking is a delight. Wouldn't change it for anything. And doesn't scratch 🤣

+1 for the Elica we have a Recirculating Switch in white and love it.  Went from gas hob in last house [and electric rings before that], and controllability is great.    The extraction on the Elica works well, which you would expect as primarily they are an extraction company, and you can actually see it sucking in the steam [water vapour before anyone corrects :) ].   Also what we noticed when we were on holiday using a cheaper induction hob, was that there was a tendency to pulse more with the power.  We don't notice this at all on the Elica.  Ours extracts to the plinth underneath the hob, and is less obtrusive than the grills for the Integrated Fridge and Freezer.  MVHR extracts about 2m away, and never need to use the boost.   Did have to loose the top drawer under the hob due to accommodate the extraction unit, and still try to open the fixed draw every so often.

We got the kitchen guy to fix the top drawer to the next one down so both handles open the same drawer. Kept the symmetry in the kitchen and have a useful drawer. Mostly so not trying to open a fixed drawer tho!

Ours is white as well, looks amazing.
