Maximum length of different worktop materials

The kitchen design we are hoping to use in our self build has a worktop run of 3.8 metres and a run of 4.2 metres at 90 degrees to it. All low level cupboards, so nothing above the worktop.

I think 4.2 metres is longer than silestone and the like can be supplied.

Can anyone confirm before i go and ask a retailer.

Yes, I'd say the quartz and sintered products like dekton are about as long as they get, which is approx 3.2 metres.

Laminate is typically the longest with 4.1m the norm. We have a joint in ours. TBH it's a fairly small worry. 

 

Some of the stone resin products look fine jointed. 

 

If you really want jointless you could get cast in place concrete tops or welded stainless.

Microcement. You can then also have integrated splashbacks and all jointless.

The limit tends to be 3.2m. There’s also a limit on the weight that a lot of suppliers will provide in a single piece which also depends on access, stairs etc. solid worktops are heavy. 30mm thick quartz is something like 80kgs/sqm. 
 

Microcement is a great option too. We are considering it too for a few different areas. Other half to do our entire floor in it but I’m not convinced.
