bmj1
Hi all, I'm currently looking at some sliding doors for these openings (i.e. instead of the 3 sets of french doors shown below). I.e. imagine x3 sliding panels at ~800mm each, for each of the 3 openings Question: Looking at the left-most of these sets, would it be possible to have it as a three-track pocket-system that slides into the wall cavity to its left ? How could this work with brick-ties and other building regs ? Thank you in advance
JohnMo
There was another thread a few weeks ago on the same subject, they concluded it was possible. Have a search.
Conor
With the sliders you won't have the same clear opening area as the patio doors, of that's an issue for you Also, 7.5m of full height glazing on one elevation is a lot. You'll want to get triple glazed units and good airtightness or else you'll be making yourself a world of trouble.
markc
External pocket doors are pretty straightforward and quite common in warmer climates. Biggest problem would be achieving an acceptable (draught proof) seal around the pocket and how thick your wall would have to be to achieve a decent insulation performance.
