notreadyforthis Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 How are gaps in the flooring supposed to be finished around kitchen cabinets? The gaps are too small to be filled with thin wedges of the flooring wood itself so I’m assuming some sort of filler. What should my expectations be around how close the colour match will be or should I expect it to stand out a bit?
Big Jimbo Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 You are some sort of mastic filler. You should be able to get something that would be a close colour match. Have a word with your flooring guy.
Bozza Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 That looks like an end panel made of worktop material. The flooring should run underneath it and the end panel should “float” ideally above uncut flooring. At least that’s how I fit mine. however you are where you are. There are plenty of sealant options whether to match the floor or the panel. Looks like a white oak laminate there are loads of shades of sealant available that won’t look too bad.
joe90 Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 I would never floor around the end panels, they should be fitted on top of the flooring IMO, However as said above a coloured mastic will do it . 1
