Post and beam Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 Hi Guys I liked the look of the Residence collection adverts in the magazines. However, reading reviews this evening it seems they would be a very bad choice. So, can anybody recommend a supplier for windows and doors. I expect to be buying casement windows of middle quality. Would love Sash windows but i am not a rich guy so doubt that is going to happen. Style of house is Heritage collection 1 1/2 story potton post and beam country farmhouse kind of thing. Thanks in advance keith
Bozza Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 I can recommend Rationel, though I went for contemporary alu clad units, they also do more traditional style windows. Pricing I thought was very good, but I got my prices just before lockdown. They have just replaced the front door for free, under warranty, as the paint started to crack and crease. No quibble replacement. So I can vouch for service as well as product. My front elevation is well exposed to wind rain and sun. No issues with the windows. Very good Nordan have a good reputation amongst some other members.
Nickfromwales Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 I can recommend Simon Chadwick of SMC. He’s come to the rescue from a job that’s started with a window fitter on his mother’s side….. Very nice guy, and came very highly recommended via Dovista ( who own Velfac and Rational ). Give him a buzz and mention the Welshman. 07862 737026.
CharlieKLP Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 I really like Bereco for a traditional style house, but they are not cheap. Have you had a look at their ranges?
TonyT Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 (edited) I have bereco, sash windows, good quality, decent price for pre finished timber sash and case. Edited July 22, 2022 by TonyT
Post and beam Posted July 23, 2022 Author Posted July 23, 2022 Thanks guys, i will check these lot out
Post and beam Posted July 26, 2022 Author Posted July 26, 2022 I had a look at the Bereco site. Some of their pictures looked familiar. They are of the Potton show houses, so if Potton use them themselves i will follow up with an enquiry. Thanks again
CharlieKLP Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 If you buy them through Potton it’s probably cheaper, just ask them for a quote themselves and then pick a different external supplier to compare the costs.
Post and beam Posted July 28, 2022 Author Posted July 28, 2022 One step ahead of you. I had a look at Rationel as well.
