ToughButterCup
Evan Davies has just said that PV panels don't work as well at this temperature. Is that true ? Mine have been going full-on since this morning 9kWh so far (3.84 kWp, south facing)
HerbJ
Mine too - 6.5-year-old system3.99kWp (facing due just slightly west of due south) producing 16.9 kWh up to 1700hr, with a peak at 2.9kW
billt
Yes it's true. The output drops with high temperatures. There's a characteristic in the panel spec called NOCT, typically about -05% per degree C increase. If the module is at 55C (quite likely in these conditions, the output will be reduced by about 15%. However it's not particularly important as a midsummer day with near constant sun is going to generate more energy than a cool cloudy day. JohnMo
Normal chuff, by ill informed broadcasters. Tell you part of a story, as it sounds more dramatic.

And the solar intensity may be 20% higher than normal.
