DragsterDriver
Just a thought- should I be testing the system for air leaks before I start covering up pipe work etc plasterboarding?
joe90
What pipework have you used, if flexible stuff there should be no joins hidden to leak later?

joe90
My thoughts are that there is very little air pressure so as long as you have done you’re best even if it leaks slightly it’s not like plumbing leaking and causing damage 🤷♂️
mrbd
My thoughts are that an additional test could add value and it's something I plan to do, probably with a DIY fan.
MJNewton
I doubled up on all the seals for my connections - gave me some reassurance and only cost a few quid.
JohnMo
Passivhaus state not to start the MVHR until the house is fully sealed, due to dust getting in and you can't get it out afterwards.
GreenGuy
After plaster-boarding how are you going to clean the pipework? I've had MVHR for a few years and the pipework is black inside, this can be removed by using liquid Sugar Soap and a brush.
MJNewton
Is it mould? Ours is a few years old now and there's no sign of anything inside - no dust, mould or anything. The filters get pretty filthy though! The semi-rigid radial ducting I used (Airflow Airflex Pro) is advertised as anti-static and anti-bacterial which I never thought much about, but perhaps it really does mean something?
