Jimmycliff
Hello all, I am planning a garden workshop under PD. 15m square floor space and 2.5m height with probably mono pitched roof. My question relates to where in my garden I can measure the overall height as my house sits about 400mm above the lawn level. Between the house and the garden room site, there is a small patio (at ‘house height’) then a good 5m expanse of lawn at the lower level. Would I be able to take my reading for max height from the patio (ie ~400mm higher than build site)? Or does the building have to be in contact with the higher ground for this to be viable? I have watched Ali Dymock’s (excellent) videos on this, and feel the answer is the latter, but thought I would enquire here to see if anyone has any extra intel. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. Thanks in advance, Jimmy
markc
Height is from ground adjacent to the structure
ProDave
You measure the height from the highest point of the actual ground that the building sits on. The ground level at other parts of the garden is irrelevant.
Conor
Aye, local ground level. You can of course, alter the hight of the ground if required...
