new build with 2nd consumer in attached garage

new build 1ts fix and looking to put a seperate consumer unit in garage with 6mm t&e from main box. does the garage consumer unit also need to be metal?

They all need to be metal under current edition regs afaik. You'd probably be hard pressed to buy a new plastic one!

Strictly speaking they all just have to be "non flamable" it's just that nobody yet has certified a plastic one as being non flamable.

I am looking for a consumer unit that I will use use on the temp supply to my static whilst building and thinking it could then be used in my workshop once the main supply is moved to the house. 

Would a AC rcb be ok or does it need to be a different type for the temp supply?
