Standard sized windows

Looking to jump ahead on an upcoming extension build and get the windows ordered. Construction will be rendered dense block/125 full fill/celcon.

What are standard window sizes to match standard block+mortar joint multiples? 1200x1050 & 1800x1050?

Looking at somewhere like wickes and seeing what they had in stock helped us work out a couple of window openings. Good luck!

Usually now off the shelf windows are the same price cad made to measure. They used to 2 to 2.5 times more expensive.

biggest timber windows company no longer hold standard size windows but make to order at a very reasonable price.

My reasoning is not to save on window costs by having off the shelf, it’s to save having to mess the builder about and allow him to make openings that match a certain course of blocks.

Blocks are normally 225mm courses.

Work on multiples of these at design stage if you're really bothered but brickies deal with random window spacing every day of the week. Masonry is very accommodating to this. Maybe consulting a SE to ensure you don't go beyond standard lintel sizes would save more money.

I would push the cavity to at least 150mm and not consider anything other than full fill batts or beads.
