Tanking a Jackaboard advice

What would you use to fill the gap between floor and plasterboard before tanking the tray? Just some expanding foam?

I would leave it as is.

Don’t you use backer rod, this is a foam filler profile to fill large voids to allow a bit of movement. 
I would look at the instructions on the tanking system you will use.

Left it to the tiler to do and he filled it with a foam then cut it flush before tanking it.
