thefoxesmaltings
We have an outbuilding which will need connecting to the water supply as indicated by the black arrow. Nothing yet connected or installed and build has not started. Is it easier/better to go: Direct from the boundary water connection, directly to the outbuilding (green), Connect the dwelling supply first and then go from the dwelling supply to the outbuilding (blue)? markc
No need for two runs, 1 run with tee to supply the outbuilding and blanked off for the house ready for when it’s needed
JohnMo
Possibly no.2. But follow route for no.1 and tee off, rather than going under the house.

So basically it runs parallel to the main dwelling towards the outbuilding as per route no.1 and then splits off into the house. - Would using a 'tee', affect water pressure at all? Water pressure is affected by the pipe size and amount of water drawn off. Unlikely your outbuilding will be using loads of water unless it’s for a sprinkler or something. ideally you would run the pipe towards the house and use a tee to supply the outbuilding. (main usage in line with supply and tee to secondary location). in reality it would make little difference which way the tee was installed.
PeterW
@thefoxesmaltings is there an existing supply and where is the water meter ..? If it is new I would put a 25mm supply to the house, then tee off to a 20mm up to the outbuilding with a second stop valve to protect that supply at the house. Brand new connection planned. Thanks, that's helpful. Will suggest that to the plumber if he already doesn't have some ideas.
