Jamier Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 I am in the process of purchasing a dormer bungalow and wondered if I could remove the roof, add a 2nd storey and replace the roof (with rooms) under permitted development thus making a 2 storey house with loft conversion. I've look on the net but cant find anything that covers this particular scenario. Thanks in advance
Mr Punter Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 No you would need planning consent Here is the guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/permitted-development-rights-for-householders-technical-guidance/permitted-development-rights-for-householders-technical-guidance#class-b--additions-etc-to-the-roof
Temp Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 @Jamier Have you seen this.. https://www.planningportal.co.uk/info/200130/common_projects/158/additional_storeysextending_upwards 1
DevilDamo Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 As @Temp mentioned, that could be deemed as PD via the Prior Approval scheme.
