richo106
Hi The supply cable to our bungalow comes in the front side of the house and then into the garage, I am happy with the location of the incoming cable to the property I don't know the exact route it comes but it looks like it could cut over where I am planning to have a double story extension. Can I build over this cable or would I have to re route this cable? Also the cable comes up the front of the bungalow, am I ok to plasterboard over to conceal it (obviously keep it within cable zones) I am not sure what to do on this so any advice would be helpful Thanks again
markc
In an ideal world you do not build over services but it does happen quite often, no real difference to building and then routing a cable into the building. obviously take care not to damage the cable (and even more care when looking for it because they often snake around and are nowhere near where you think they are). Protect while works are in progress and include detail to prevent foundations and walls etc from imposing any load on the cable or ducting (if it’s even in a duct) Edited November 24, 2021 by markc
ProDave
A neighbour here had to pay the DNO to extend and re route the supply cable as they would not allow them to build over it when adding a conservatory.
