This may seem a daft question but I need a sanity check!

Bought a 100l buffer tank. It's git two connections near top, two near bottom.

Now, clearly warm water rises so,

UFH flow from a top connection, return into a bottom one.

ASHP flow into top connection and return from the bottom? So sucking the colder water from the bottom back out rather than the warm at the top?

Does your buffer tank not have a coil?, connections fir these would be on the side and connected to your ASHP, connection on the very top is output to UFH manifold, side connection near the bottom is the return from that manifold.

No coil, all the ufh and ashp fluid is connected. I think it is both hots at top, was just having a brain fart!

Well, output from the ASHP and output to the manifold at the top! So yes both “hots”

Would need to thermally model it, then statistically model it in the thermo-temporal domain, then verify against the alternative configurations.

But would probably be faster to just swap any pipes around.
