House man Posted August 28, 2021 Posted August 28, 2021 New to the forum been reading around for a year though, Got an old semi here in Leeds, 2 story side extension but planning on using marmox Opinions on replacing plasterboard with 30mm marmox instead?
Olf Posted August 29, 2021 Posted August 29, 2021 Which exactly Marmox product are you planning to use and why?

If you are looking to add better insulation An insulated plasterboard would be more effective and cheaper
House man Posted August 30, 2021 Author Posted August 30, 2021 Thinking about replacing standard plasterboard with 40mm marmox multiboard, Reason? well a friend used it and says its better for thermal insulation
Temp Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Near impossible to fix anything to raw Marmox. I built a washstand from it and let in blocks of wood where towel rails were going. At least with insulated plasterboard you have half a chance of fixing to it.

Spec says 0.034 W/m·K, standard value for polystyren based rigid insulation For the same money you can get PIR backed plasterboard, and that is better than XPS. Apart from tiled areas I can't see any reason to use Multiboard
