Moonshine Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 I need to fix a drainage pipe to a wall, where it will be boxed in. Due to issues with setting out the slab the pipe is a lot closer to the wall than expected. The pipe needs to be held a max of 2cm from the wall, where as the standard clips hold it 4cm from the wall. Any ideas on a good way to clamp ot to the all?
tonyshouse Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Rebate the bracket into the wall by 20mm, or 20mm eps/xps behind pipe and angle bracket under it, then strap to wall with off cut of electric cable or similar even a cable tie.
joe90 Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Yes, as it’s going to be boxed in you won’t see it, pack the 20mm and use metal strap and a couple of screws to stop it moving.

I went for this with the strapping it seems pretty fixed, though i do think it needs some soft material between the strap and the pipe 1
saveasteading Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 (edited) Or 2 hook bolts screwed to the wall, then wire linking them and holding the pipe. Galvanised wire. Then it wont budge in any direction. Too late....I see the strap. Not sure that will work in the sideways direction though. Another couple of screws and tie the strap together at the back?
