Greetings. I had some Wunda UFH pipe (I believe it's Pert-al-pert) delivered on 10th May and I've left them outside since then as I decided not to use them for the basement. Anyone know if the exposure to UV would've compromised the pipe at all or should it be still ok?

There is a good chance that the UV exposure will have degraded the oxygen barrier in the pipe.

thanks for the response. I thought that might be the case. I will double check with Wunda what the maximum UV exposure time is. it's still wrapped in their paper type packaging which might help I guess.

Yes, that is likely to have prevented it.  I know we wrap our pipe in black wrap to prevent UV exposure and are able to store this outside for this reason.

I moved it all to the garage quite a few weeks ago as well so it's now in the dark. hopefully it'll be ok.

what exactly does UV do to aluminium please?

Nothing! Atmosphere will cause oxidation and UV can fade paint but Alu itself isn’t affected.

Valid point.  Apologies I overlooked the fact that the barier is the aluminium.  Apologies for the misinformation.
