Water
Hi all, I need a bit of help knowing how best to do this. I had a new electricity connection for my new build, it was routed underground but pops out of the ground by the external wall and about 1 foot above ground level goes through a hole in the wall into the house. With all the regulations around electricity I was surprised about this, are there any minimum requirements? I was trying to research it online but not coming up with anything. Thank you Edited June 6, 2021 by Water
Temp
Normally they require you to install a meter box on an outside wall and bring the connection up into that. If the cable runs up the outside of the wall it might need covering/protecting but I think that may only be necessary where there is a risk of a car impacting it? I'm not 100% sure about that though. You can get plastic covers to stop rain getting in through the hole but I've just had one crumble on me due to uv exposure. TonyT
Best check what the DNO for your area say regarding the meter, meterbox, hockey stick duct etc.
Water
Thanks, I’ve emailed them to see what they say. A car could easily clip it, well my car. Edited June 6, 2021 by Water
