Gabby
Hi everyone, Just bought a small terrace house in North Wales with my partner. The previous owner tried to DIY everything but really had no skills or taste, so it's in pretty rough shape. We've got a long to-do list which includes: -refinishing wooden floors upstairs -repainting everything -dealing with weird water pressure issues -figuring out the best way to heat (we have no gas or oil) -ripping out the vinyl flooring and replacing with quarry tiles (Any recommendations for someone in the North Wales area (near Porthmadog) who could put in quarry tiles in the kitchen/living area??) Looking forward to figuring it all out and getting it done!

Best way to heat will be something @SteamyTea will have some ideas on. Flooring is a general issue, so loads on here - just use search to find interesting threads. Weird water pressure issues with no doubt engage @Nickfromwales among many others. All of them will want some background information so it might be worth creating a post, perhaps for each, as and when needed.
SteamyTea
Welcome. First things first, a rough drawing, with dimensions of your house would be useful. If it is similar to my old Victorian terrace, the thermal loses where dreadful. Knowing what I now know, I could have put it right when I gutted the place, hard to do after the event. Really comes down to how much you want to spend, and how much work you do yourself.
Nickfromwales
Details on what weird ? is going on with pressures will help. As said, start a new individual thread for each issue, or feel free to resurrect and tag onto an existing, relevant thread. Quarry tiled floor will be Baltic cold, so take up enough subfloor to get at least 150mm of EPS ( high density polystyrene) or 100mm minimum of PIR ( Kingspan / cellotex etc ) and also about 80mm of screed and put the tiles atop the screed. It would be a good opportunity to put some UFH pipes in the screed too for a super-comfortable floor. Is gas not available in the street or just not in your house? Lots more info required when you get these threads going. Don’t be shy.

Nickfromwales
Then the pressure should improve “slightly” lol.
