Nickfromwales
I've seen some tiling that you have look at twice to work out just how they did it so bad. Getting someone to admit they did it poorly is the biggest hurdle, and if you get any money back it's a bonus. Most will shrug it off and walk away, then it's down to yours and their interpretation of what was expected / asked for and what's been delivered. Regardless of title or procedure it's not a simple process, and it's down to you keeping a calm, firm tone and simply to keep pursuing the individual with 100% conviction, stating over and over again that this issue will not go away and needs to be rectified. Materisls can often be assumed as write-offs, and as you'll not want the same jerk back you may never see a penny of remuneration unless you've been prudent enough not to pay them ( until satisfaction and completion ). Deffo a sticky situation but it's best, imo, to get things corrected, even if it's at some additional cost
