Any suggestions for a system that I can control each room rad stat? and HW. The proviso is that it doesn't rely on XXYY company keeping their servers on for you or that allow open source , documented control protocols that can be controlled by an open source or self-hosted control system? I'd like to be able to control it from Home Assistant (or OpenHab) I've already setup Home Assistant (https://www.home-assistant.io) on my own hardware. Edders Posted May 23, 2021 Author Share Posted May 23, 2021 Right I've answered my own question. Drayton Wiser and Tado offer an API so that external programs can interact with it. From what I've read Tado allows your program of choice to communicate with it, whereas the Drayton Wise (or Schneider Electric) allows your program to communication with the hub itself. Very useful if the provider pulls the plug on the serve. Looks like I'm going Wiser ... You do need internet access to control it ( runs headless ) . So if internet fails it still works .
