Ideas for this gap

Wanting something else to replace this black gravel I have to replace every year after winter as it just looks scruffy could it be cemented ? Or any other suggestions? Thanks

Keep the gravel, it helps prevents lots of problems, rain bounce past the dpc

What about a sleeper or composite decking over it ? And just take a bit of gravel out

Your paving is already too high, it should be 150mm below the damp proof course. 

 

You need to keep the gravel to lesson water bounce going above the dpc. 

 

Don’t fill it in with cement.

150mm is the height of 2 rows of bricks, in your photo the gap is down to about 50mm and this increases the risk of rising damp due to rain splash bounces landing on your bricks above the damp proof level.

Bloody hell im worried about damp

now ! Might get some larger stones to go on top of the smaller gravel
