Barryscotland
Our timber kit quotes all say “No ground works should commence until you have received our fully dimensioned wallplate drawing which will show brick work dimensions and may supersede architectural foundation drawings previously issued” as foundations are the great unknown we would like to get the founds in before we commit to a timber kit or stick build so we no where we are funds wise but to get the wall plate design I have to place an order for a kit. Question is do they ever vary from the engineers drawings or are we safe enough to say follow the engineers drawings an the kit will fit?
TonyT
Wait and fit the foundation that is specific to your kit. what happens if they say they need intermediate foundation for a sleeper wall and you haven’t done it, just adds more unnecessary grief. Russell griffiths
You may also have point loads from a post carrying a beam that requires different foundations.

Any changes and i'd need to get redesign checked and signed of by building control ? (In Scotland so maybe different from England?) All intermediate found strips and kershaw beam supports are shown. also the structural engineer worked alongside the timber frame companies architect that designed our house so id hope they consulted each other
