EWI Suppliers

Has anyone approached any of the big EWI/render manufactures from a self build point of view? The likes of Jub, Stro, Alumac etc

There are some quite cheap systems on ebay, for example 1m2 of 150mm graphite eps with a complete render system for £16. So surly there must be some good deals from suppliers.

£16 per metre sounds unbelievably cheap.  I am paying more than that per square metre just for the labour to apply my render, so I can't see how anyone can do it including materials for that price.

It's this system

It's ceresit system which is well known, their thin coats have some good feedback from plasterers.
I lied for 150mm grey or 200mm white it was 16.88/m2.
You will be paying much more than £16 for labour this is material only.

I looked at EWI in depth. The cost of installation is extortionate in the uk. Probably because of government grants.

I think a 300mm insulated cavity is a cheaper option. Even if it shouldn't be.

Most of the fitters are very inexperienced and small mistakes can cause huge issues. The render systems also don't age well. Spots appear on light colours where the mechanical fixings are.

EWI works better under cladding/rain screen IMO.

That's not what I used, but at £16 per square metre for everything including the insulation panels it does sound very cheap.
