Buzz
I have costs in from a few timber frame company’s, trying to work out how this compares to building out of brick and block. The timber frame quotes I have are for an insulated structure roof trusses and erection (no sniggering) I am working out how much it would cost to get to the same stage in blocks and bricks and need to know what else I need to cost for? The list I have so far is as follows 240 m2 of inner wall + lintels 145 m2 of internal wall + lintels 10 no 7m x35d fink trusses 22no 12.5m x35d attic trusses 1 no 12m steel 10m cut roof @400 centres Insulation Sand + cement What else needs to go on the list? I can work out prices from the web for materials if I know what’s needed We are building a 270m2 t shape bungalow 240m2 living 30m2 garage. Currently we are 50/50 ,can see the benefits in both systems and it might just come down to cost. if block and brick works out significantly cheaper I can live without the very quick build time . Declan52
Hire of a mixer and a telehandler to load bricks and blocks and maybe the truss. Trestles and planks and scaffolding to build the house.
