Pord67
We're scouring the 'pre-loved' market for a ceramic double-bowl kitchen sink. Quite a few are appearing which have no overflow, including from manufacturers like Thomas Denby. Is this asking for potential trouble? I understand that as well as the obvious benefit the overflow can also help speed up draining.
Temp
You can get a waste outlet that has a clever extra tube that provides an overflow without needing overflow hole in the sink... This vid shows how it works. The only issue is you may need a channel in the wall to hide the vertical pipe on the left depending on the design of the basin. Pord67
Thanks, that's an option. It would be easier just getting a sink with an overflow, though.
Big Jimbo
Your title say it all. Bad idea. Dog barks. delivery arrives. Child falls over and cut themselves. To many reasons to walk away, and leave it running.
Ferdinand
Have you tried new ones? As a wildcard, Ikea have one called Havsen for about £225. https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/havsen-sink-bowl-2-bowls-w-visible-front-white-s79250265/ Edited October 6, 2020 by Ferdinand
Pord67
We're trying to keep costs down, hence looking for something used. Anyone know if the lack of overflow can/does impact on the rate of draining?
