Kent Self build

Hi everyone 

 

I’m John in Kent and am looking for a plot of land in Kent for a self build house. I’m aiming to build a timber (oak) frame house of about 300sq metres. 
 

Just need to find a plot first.

Hi and Welcome to THE forum for self builders - there are few of us in Kent so you are not alone, we are Building in Whitstable, frame now up and coverings going on.

It is just legwork I suppose. Use Plot Finder / Plot Browser / Rightmove and see what pops up.  Speak to agents who sell lots of small new build schemes - they are always tapping into the land deals and teeing up small developers on the basis that they get a fee and the resales. Bear in mind a single plot doesn't really work for any developer so you may pick something up.

 

Finally drive around the areas you like and chat to people - you never know what pops up!

Hi, we are in Kent currently although we've found a plot in east sussex (just!).  Were made aware of it through an estate agent so they are definitely worth befriending.
