These walls hold back garden soil etc, 1964 build not touched since, swmbo wants a ‘ nicer’ finish on the walls.

Thinking to render and paint, is it just 3:1 sand/cement?

walls only 1m high and fairly solid but blown bricks and wet/ damp at the bottom

Whats the best quick bodge here

I reckon render will blow. Maybe a dpm, battens with st/st Fisher fixings then...feather edge, shiplap etc?

I wonder if going cheap you could stick something like a green mineral felt to the walls as is...lorry siding tarp...lino...

Good suggestion but it’s for a cat although we must keep the ladies happyC5AEAAEA-F3ED-47F3-91CB-D12F6CC231D1.thumb.jpeg.6d339900d6d69a0a0ba8506357e6703d.jpegbreeder said house cat or hunter?

If we had said hunter she would not have sold, seems they get stolen a lot?

They're all just furred killing machines. How about wicker, willow or rattan panels? They'd scratch it to pieces in no time though.

Aye.. good cat!

What about strap with 50 x 25 treated on a strip of dpm. Use stainless steel screws. Fix a bit of breathable membrane to the strapping.  100 x 12 -22 thick larch or something light shade that will weather a bit but vertically orientated to give it some appearance of height.. nothing needing paint etc. Leave a gap between the boards of say 10 -15mm, a gap at the bottom and a gap at the top so it all breathes. The membrane is to hide the bricks behind so you can't see them through the gap.

Now if you want to earn some extra points you can fix shelves etc to the timbers... and we all love shelves etc don't we !

A series of staggered shelves would add interest for the cats. Maybe a high sleeping perch too.
