Costs per sqm basis GFA vs GIA

Evening all,

 

My builder insists it's industry standard to use the gross floor area when discussing costs per square meter but I thought it was the norm to use gross internal area.

 

I can see why he'd want to use GFA as he has to build the external walls, but that could mean I'm not comparing apple to apples.

I've always gone with GIA - no wonder @nod built his so cheap his walls are 4m wide! haha

Though it did work for a company many years ago that knocked the tops of the walls off when they where paying for plasterboard and skim ceilings 

Makes sense if you have a hundred houses 

It used to cause some arguments though
