That's often the case. However note that Passivhaus certified units come with a more realistic measure of their heat recovery rate compared to non-certified units (Paul have a short explanation), and that heat recovery rate and electrical power use determine the long-term payback.

Ok so have been offered the two quotes both with 2 options. Anyone able to advise which option and either standard or premium? IIRC the premium uses the slightly more flexy duct.

 

I paid for my design, as I wanted it prior to buying the stuff (and ended up getting the unit elsewhere), I think it was £100 or £150, and it was credited against the subsequent order as I recall
