Wood Paint

Hi,

 

What make of wood paint would people recommend? I have heard that Sovereign SX70 is good but God is it expensive, can it be worth the money, or is other products just as good. 

Thoughts please.

We used the 6 coat system from Dulux - brilliant paint but 6 coats - I ask you.

the standard paint to use up here is valtti opaque https://www.tikkurila.co.uk/decorative_paints/products/valtti_opaque it is a very good paint and lasts a long time

We used Sovereign SX70 white woodstain in the 90s internally and externally on all the windows and doors. It was very easy to use and it never peeled or cracked. It gave a nice satin finish. They may have changed the recipe since then of course.

I like Bedec Barn Paint but have only used their satin black.

It's a shed, think the wind in Orkney causes most of the problems.
