Tony K
Hi Our self build has 6m wide, 2.3m high opening for bifold doors / large sliding panels, leading from the main living area on the the garden. I envisage floor to ceiling glazing panels. These dimensions immediately rule out 'off the shelf' door sets which are all about 2090mm tall, as standard. Does anyone have any experience sourcing, ordering and using custom sized glazed doors? Was it hideously more expensive than off-the-shelf alternatives? What are the potential pitfalls with tailor sized panels? Thanks Edited February 19, 2020 by Tony K
Russell griffiths
I thought most doors and windows where bespoke really there are lots of companies around specialising in large doors and windows it really depends on your spec. I have just had triple glazed ally clad doors and windows from a company called norrsken the big door weighed a smidge under half a tonne so not exactly small. I know of a few on here that have used them as well as loads of other companies. I dont think what you are after is particularly unusual.
Conor
We're getting 5m X 2.6m triple glazed bifold doors. Prices from the various companies are all in around £10k ex vat.

Would you be willing to tell me which firms you went to, if only to save me a little time finding some?
Conor
@Tony K Sunflex and Lacuna. Only two I found that do triple glazed and grade 4 airtightness.

There are others if you shop about (ALuK and Cortizo for example) . I've had several quotes at that spec. 6.4mx2.2m sliding doors in 3 panes is about 10K as well. Ultra slim profiles.
