Alexphd1
Currently on site today running in waste pipes for a shower. it's a passive slab. was looking at the mcalpine top entry shower trap. does these just glue into 110mm waste pipe? Nickfromwales
Can you post a link to the one you've chosen? I think it'll more likely be push fit tbh.

PeterW
Yes it's a push fit into a 110mm socket or can be solvent welded into 110mm soil The bottom piece is an adapter that shouldn't be properly fixed unless you need it as it's a solvent weld add on if that makes sense ..? Alexphd1
i originally presumed it would solvent weld into a 110mm soil pipe (making life very easy) but I am starting to question (worry) that i was wrong. we are hoping to get slab poured end if week of weather holds out. PeterW
If you are worried then sleeve a section of waste in cardboard and DPC into the socket at the main drain below the slab. When the slab sets, you can pull the pipe out and then use one of these in the socket. https://www.plastics-express.co.uk/soil-vent-systems/solvent-weld-soil-system/solvent-weld-soil?product_id=1051&kw=pla-106194767130&fl=1000&ci=43648356450&network=pla&gclid=CjwKEAiAu6DBBRDDr6-e_6698E0SJACvuxnyJQ9xeFoEDrGA42ZHoT3SmQOrMT7HZn4lkvaFqqmNihoCjT7w_wcB It will give you 50mm movement all round to adjust properly. When it's in the right place just back fill with sand and top with concrete to hold it in.
Nickfromwales
I'd favour push fit EVERY day of the week. As long as the pipe is supported then there is really no need to solvent weld imo. I've had more trouble from solvent welded joints on 110mm than I ever have with push fit. Glue can go brittle and if the two mating surfaces aren't prepped and cleaned properly then the joint will fail. Also, you'll really be buggered if you ever need to move or alter it afterwards. Silicone lube it up and push fit all the way.
Gone West
That's the same waste I used in my groundfloor wetroom. I have an Isoquick insulated PH slab and I cut 110mm holes in blocks of polystyrene and pushed them down over the soil pipe down to the foundation insulation and sealed over the top of the soil pipe. After the slab was finished I cut out the polystyrene blocks, cut the soil pipe to the appropriate height and fitted a 110mm push fit connector and the waste.
