Triassic
I’m about to purchase an Eddi PV diverter, however when I added it to the shopping basket it suggests I also need the Eddi Hub. I’m not sure what this is? Do I actually need it, also what does it do, in layman’s terms please.
Markblox
I remember reading about it on their website so I reckon you will better off getting it from the horses mouth. I'm positive it's on there.
MrMagic
The Eddi manual is really comprehensive - https://myenergi.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/eddi_manual_v2.3_english.pdf AFAIK you can use the Eddi without the Harvi provided you can run the cabled CT clamp round your meter tails to monitor power in/out and for the Eddi to divert accordingly. If not, you can use the Harvi to wireless connect CT clamps to Eddi. You've then also got the 'hub' which is basically the internet gateway bit so you can use the app to control/fiddle/monitor your Eddi HTH. Triassic
There was no mention of Harvi at checkout, only the Hub!? I’d read up on Harvi but wasn’t sure about what the Hub did, Hence my confusion.
Triassic
According to the Eddi manual I can extend the signal cable using twisted pair telephone cable or CAT5. Just a thought, should the cable be the shielded type? Also any tips on installation and separation distance from power cables.

Nickfromwales
No need for shielded cable. Just try not to run it parallel to mains cables for any log distances ( 10m or more ).
