Stones Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Engineered Oak being laid over concrete slab with wet UFH. Has anyone used this particular flexible adhesive? https://www.luxuryflooringandfurnishings.co.uk/pallman-p5-wood-flooring-adhesive-16kg-tubs.html Any other recommendations?
PeterW Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Yep - used this one http://www.bambooflooringcompany.com/ever-build-lumberjack-650-adhesive-14kg.html (used for bamboo) and this one http://www.bambooflooringcompany.com/sika-bond-ms-wood-floor-adhesive-14kg.html (used for oak) Both work really well and you get around 20sqm per tub.
TheMitchells Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Wow, that seems expensive - £60 a tub! I was planning on using Bamboo Flooring Company as we love the look of the wood and it seems much harder than oak so can be used in kitchens. But I had not budgeted for the adhesives. Looks like I may need to revise our budget.

Expand Certainly aware of Sika, but when you start looking, there is a fairly large choice of products available, for roundabout the same sort of money, that all claim to do the same job.

Declan52 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I used the sika for the same setup and have had no problems two years down the line. Think I only paid £30 a tub though. It's seriously sticky stuff, you only have maybe at a push 1 min to get the board into place and make sure it's good other wise you will need a spade to get it off the concrete.
Stones Posted November 14, 2016 Author Posted November 14, 2016 Did you have to prime the concrete in any way first?
Declan52 Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I first put a weak coat of pva on the floor just to keep the dust down and when I was ready, 2 months later, I used a primer.
