Only two years so far, not digging it up inspect it tho ? but it does work well and done by a builder who has been doing it fir years around here.

farmers don't use membrane in field drains and they last well enough?

I'll dig out the trench and see what the earth is like before I decide which way to go.

Good idea. If it’s not clay you may well be better off with a membrane ?

@joe90 I think your site is an exception as it is so very flat.  Not sure how this affects the flow, but I suspect that most of the rain that falls on your place stays put initially.

Unlike the A30 earlier which has a new brown river flowing across it
